Our BHS-qualified coaches bring decades of experience in eventing, dressage and showjumping to every camp we run in Norfolk's beautiful Breckland countryside. We're also supported by other trusted businesses, including Spillers Horse Feeds and Kelly Moore of Moore Sports Massage. Working with fellow professionals in the equine industry to bring our campers the very best is something I'm proud of.
Dr Jo Winfield FBHS
Dr Jo Winfield FBHS is Principal Lecturer in Equine at Hartpury University, and holds a Professional Doctorate in Sport and Exercise, awarded in 2022, alongside a National Diploma in Horse Management from Warwickshire College, a BSc (Hons) in Equine Science from Hartpury, and an MSc in Coaching Science. Her doctoral research explored perceptions of risk management in equestrian sports coaching, leading to the creation of a bowtie model.
Jo has been a Fellow of the British Horse Society since 1996 and a BHS Assessor since 2007, and previously served as the BHS's Director of Education, establishing international assessment programmes in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Beijing.
Jo has competed to Intermediate level in Eventing, Foxhunter level in Showjumping, and Medium level in Dressage.
She now directs Equine Access Limited, an equestrian training and consultancy business, and is co-author of The Pony Club Manual of Horsemanship: Book 1. Jo's passion for horses drives her to help others build a successful relationship with their own horse, whether that's through an equine career or simply as a lifelong leisure pursuit.
Caroline Meads BHSI
Caroline Meads BHSI is a Stage Five Performance Coach who has been coaching professionally since 2001, with a background spanning eventing and dressage.
She began her career working with hunters and eventers, and in racing and dealing yards, before landing a stable managers job at North Herts Equitation Centre at just 21, where she spent ten years gaining experience with liveries, students and BHS exam candidates.
At 28, Caroline passed her stable managers exam, and in 2000 completed the riding and teaching sections of what was then the BHSI, now known as the Stage Five Complete (Eventing) Performance Coach. The following year she moved into freelance teaching and began her own competitive career, eventing to Intermediate level before her growing love of dressage took over; she has since competed at PSG and trained horses to Grand Prix.
Caroline has a wide range of clients and has been a regular coach at Equine Experiences camps for many years. She was also named BHS East Coach of the Year in 2026, recognising her contribution to coaching across the region.
Claire Dodson
Claire Dodson BSc is a BHS Registered Intermediate Instructor, one of only four in Cambridgeshire, and holds a UK Coaching Certificate Level 3 alongside a Post Graduate Certificate in Education.
Claire owns and runs Moats Way Equestrian, a BHS-approved five-star livery yard near Huntingdon.
Claire has worked in the equine industry for 28 years, gaining managerial experience across a number of yards, and has competed her own horses to Advanced level in British Eventing.
She is also an instructor for the British Horse Society Cambridgeshire, training and educating members from grassroots level through to the more experienced rider, and provides top-class tuition to all levels of riders across different disciplines.
Liza McQuiston
Liza McQuiston is a British Dressage Accredited Coach holding the UKCC Level 3 Dressage Specific qualification, a List 4 BD Judge and an approved BD Youth Assessor. She owns and runs Burgh Farm Dressage in Norfolk, a yard established in 1996 that she now runs alongside her mother, Margaret.
Liza's riding career began through North Norfolk Pony Club, where she competed in eventing, showjumping, dressage and tetrathlon. She focused on eventing early on, training with Ruth McMullen and taking several horses to Intermediate level, before turning her attention fully to dressage. She has trained with some of the sport's leading names, including David Hunt, Jill Day, Ferdi Eilberg, Arthur Kottas and Alain Francqueville, and now trains horses up to Grand Prix level herself.
Liza is also Inter County Coach for the Norfolk Team, and her qualifications and experience allow her to work with riders and horses at every level, supporting their progression and development.
Barry Meningen
Barry Meningen is a UKCC-qualified, British Eventing accredited coach and BE80(T) coach, working with pony clubs and riding clubs across the region.
He owns and runs Meadow Lane Equestrian near Earith, on the Cambridgeshire/Huntingdonshire border.
A lightweight event rider himself, Barry has competed at all levels of British Eventing up to Advanced on horses he has produced himself, and also competes in pure dressage and showjumping. He has backed, schooled and competed horses and ponies of all levels and abilities, and specialises in horses and ponies with specific or general handling or riding problems, having trained on both an international competition yard and a yard specialising in natural horsemanship.
Barry's coaching philosophy is to work horses from the ground up, involving owners in their horse's education as much as possible. He has also been featured as an expert contributor in Your Horse magazine.
Moore Sports Massage
We were joined in April by the lovely Kelly Moore from Moore Sports Massage. Kelly is a qualified Equine Sports Massage Therapist and Human Soft Tissue Therapist. Treatment typically includes assessing the individual as a whole and using a variety of hands on methods. This can include massage, muscle energy techniques, soft tissue release and trigger point work to help ease muscular tension and improve range of movement. In addition to this kinesiology taping can be used to support where relevant, along with providing exercises and stretches to further support the treatment provided.

We're also joined at every camp by Shelly Greenwood of Shelly G Photography, our resident equine photographer based near Swaffham in Norfolk.
Shelly specialises in equine and pet photography, capturing our campers and their horses in action throughout each camp.
Shelly also does bespoke photo shoots, both for horses and dogs.
