Just a Horsy Girl with that Dodgy Gene!
I was born with the ‘dodgy horse gene’ according to my mum, no one else in the family had it, just me. I can recall paying a local gypsy, called Joan, 50p to ride her black and white cobs at 6 years of age. When I was 13 years old I was lucky enough to be bought my own pony, a 3 year old just backed grey mare called Kizzy. Need I say more, my parents were not horsy (obviously!). I owned horses for over 40 years, until I sold my last horse in February. I wanted to do other things with my time and money. As much as we love them, they do take all your time and money, something I am sure you can relate too!
My Equine Career
I left school at 17 and headed off to LillyPutts as a Working Pupil, which is where I trained and passed my Stage 3. Unable to sit the Teaching element due to the lack of English O level, a requirement back then, I finally sat the Prelim Teach in 2018 giving me the BHSAI Qualification. After leaving LillyPutts, I went on to work as a hunt groom & freelance coach for many years.
From 2008 I worked for The British Horse Society, as the Regional Manager for the East of England. During these 15 years I expanded my knowledge considerably, working along side the very best coaches, biting experts, saddlers & nutritionists in the industry. I passed my Intermediate Stable Manager Exam (Stage 4) in 2019. As part of this role I organised & ran camps, CPD, clinic’s, trainings and events. My knowledge of the industry is pretty decent and I understand riders and their horses pretty well.
Since leaving the BHS in 2024, and still with that passion for horses, riding and their welfare I now enjoy running both bespoke training camps and the all-around camps with different coaches, each with their unique skill set. I also organise and run CPD, safety events, holidays and of course offer personal coaching for confidence, performance and goal achievement, using both my horsy knowledge & NLP/Time Line Therapy. This happens out of the saddle and can be done in person or via Zoom. Please reach out to me if your in need of help with your confidence in the saddle. I have suffered my share of nerves - back when I was going through the menopause! It was NLP that saved my riding and my sanity, so I have been there and get it!

I have been a very lucky girl, from my first pony, a grey mare called Kizzy, to my last - Vera. I have been blessed with some super horses.
Vera was my second horse of a lifetime, with my grey Maxi Cob Pearl being my first. Vera is a ROR and a chestnut mare, and a darling of a horse!
Vera is now with a teenager and still loves her jumping!
